Philosophy

Above all else, I believe in respect, kindness, patience, and treating others with these attributes. I believe a job is a place or activity where I can grow as an individual, have a positive impact on those around me, and a vested interest in the success of my employer. Although other things take priority over my career, such as my family, I believe in a commitment that goes beyond the daily 9 to 5. I believe programming and design are simply more than a job, but they are my hobby, activities I enjoy, and part of my personality.

Background

I've been tinkering with computers since age of 14. I taught myself HTML, Flash, Photoshop, and published my first GeoCities site when I was 16. I register a domain and built my first "real" website that went big at the age of 18. I learned PerlScript, PHP, Classic ASP, and MySQL shortly thereafter and began my professional career. I migrated into Microsoft technologies working with VB, SQL Server, and C# at the enterprise level. More recently though, I've been drawn back to technologies I took root in: JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

Education

I started taking college classes as a teenager at Palm Beach State College. Soon after, I began attending the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale where I found my first job as a Web Developer. I eventually moved my way back to state college, graduating with my AA and pursuing BA in Graphic Design at Florida Atlantic University all while working as a full-time developer. My official education ended there, but I've continued my passion for learning. A few years ago, I earned my MCP and MCTS, and nowadays I rely on tools like Code School .
